Healthy Me/Nutrition

Children created their own x-rays using popsicle sticks. I have also seen this done using Q-tips.

Teachers put this x-ray up in the science area and then added labels to the x-ray to promote writing in the science center.

Cookie mix was added to the sensory table for the children to play with.

The characters from Tabby Tigers Clinic were added to the Dramatic Play center.

Transportation Theme

This car wash was made with curling ribbon

and pvc pipes.

This transportation matching game was made with sample laminate tiles that you can get at a home improvement store.

At Hallie Q. Brown preschool children use their very own steering wheels to drive along with the "Steering Wheel" song during the Transportation theme.

At Salvation Army Child Development Center the children get to drive their very own taxi! The teacher uses the vocab cards from the Doors to Discovery curriculum to introduce new Area of Study related words each day during the Daily Message. After a conversation about the new word, a child posts the card on the word wall at the writing center.
