Martin Luther King/Differences

A center posted these signs in their centers to show children what discrimination might feel like.
If the child had on what was on the sign they could not play in that center. Later in the day the teacher talked with the children about their feelings when they could not play in a certain area because of their color of eyes or what they were wearing.

With two chairs, a piece of yarn, clothespins and alphabet paper mittens, the children enjoyed matching the letters and pinning them on the line.
