Water Wonderland

This mural was construted by the children in the classroom and was used in the block area.
These items were put into a blow up pool for the children to fish for, identify and then write the name of the object that they caught.

Aqurium materials were added to the block are for the children to create their own aquriums.

This is a creative way to add literacy into the sensory table. The children were able to do an "I Spy" for items hidden in the oatmeal.

The children were able to create their own scenery while playing in the Dramatic Play center. The blue basket had pictures of things that you would find in the ocean and the children were able to attach them to the velcro background.

This diagram of a boat was added to the writing center. The children were able to create their own boats and label the parts.

At New Horizon's Academy, children are able to experience "Water Wonderland" with a raft, oars, and fishing poles in the Dramatic Play area, along with towels, shells, and fish. Vocabulary words and children's artwork are also prominently displayed for use by the children.

With two chairs, a piece of yarn, clothespins and alphabet paper mittens, the children enjoyed matching the letters and pinning them on the line.
